Research

I am an accomplished researcher and am never happier than when viewing documents in an archive or doing a digital deep-dive in the British Newspaper Archive.

For Islington Local History Centre, I curated an exhibition showcasing the posters for the fairs and circuses held at the Agricultural Hall (now the Business Design Centre) in the 1870s and 1880s. The digital presentation can be found here. The ‘real life’ version of this exhibition is forthcoming – dates TBC.

I also served as the researcher and assistant curator on the Islington Museum exhbition Ta-Ra-Boom-de-Ay: Music Hall in Islington (Summer 2019), and as a research assistant for We’ll Meet Again: Islington on the Home Front (online Spring 2020).

For over a year, I performed the role of part-time editorial assistant for a forthcoming major V&A/Thames & Hudson publication about silk (edited by Lesley Ellis Miller and Ana Cabrera Lafuente), which included carrying out research on objects featured in the book and authoring three object entries.
